“20 Trend RV” Facebook spam goes viral
Messages claiming that “20 Trend RV” vehicles are being given away on February 1st are spreading virally across social media website Facebook.
The messages assert that to stand a chance of winning, you need to like a Facebook page, share the post on your timeline and comment “done”. See the example below.

This is standard like-farming, where spammers are setting up fake competitions to lure people into liking their spammy like-farming pages.
We’ve warned about this type of scam numerous times. Once those Facebook users follow the instructions and follow the page, they will then see spammy posts from the page appear on their newsfeeds. These can potentially lead to more serious internet scams.

Messages describing competitions on Facebook that urge you to follow their page and post content onto your own timeline are likely to be like-farming scams since requesting Facebook users share content on their Facebook timeline is against Facebook’s terms of service regarding promotions.
Additionally, the Facebook page making the posts – Trend RV – is an obvious like-farming page. It has only posted this type of content in the past and it has been recently created.
To confirm, there is no competition here. This is just a ploy to lure Facebook users into liking specific Facebook pages.
