Did Gareth Southgate’s waistcoat have “It’s Coming Home” on it? Fact Check

An image appears to show that England football manager Gareth Southgate wore a blue waistcoat that had the words “It’s Coming Home” sewn in to the pinstripes.

The term “It’s Coming Home” comes from the UK hit song “Football’s Coming Home”, which refers to England winning an international football tournament, namely either the European Cup (Euros) or the World Cup.

An example of the image that appears to show the waistcoat can be seen below.

However the image has been digitally altered. We located the original image of Southgate at a recent England match, and it is clear that the “It’s Coming Home” pinstripes have been digitally added.

As such, the photo is rated as FAKE!
