Eminem Stabbed Outside Nightclub? SURVEY SCAM!!

Rumours asserting to show a news report about rapper Eminem being stabbed outside a nightclub highlight a typical method scammers use to lure victims.

Scammers use a whole host of tricks to lure victims but promising details or videos of celebdom gossip is certainly one of the more prolific and successful modus operands’ out there.

And messages spreading across Facebook claiming that Eminem was stabbed outside a nightclub have proven very popular. Such messages promise details of the incident or even surveillance footage, but ultimately lead to requests to complete surveys.

Clicking the links in the messages (below) take you to websites that request you share the message with friends across social media, and then ask you to complete questionnaires and surveys that harvest a user’s personal information. Once a user completes the surveys they inevitably discover that the video does not exist, but by then it is too late.

Often these messages are accompanied by a graphic looking photo of a man’s back that appears to have been slashed with a blade. Needless to say that the back does not belong to the American rapper who has not been stabbed.

The advice is simple – never complete surveys or questionnaires because some Facebook post promised you something in return. This is a classic Facebook survey scam.
