Facebook Page “Mega Trends” is a like-farming scam
If you believed you could win a “Luxury RV” for a Valentines gift just for sharing a Facebook post, then we’re sorry to report that you have been scammed.
The Facebook page “Mega Trends” has posted a series of fake competition Facebook posts claiming that their followers can win one of 20 brand new Luxury RVs. Just as soon as you like their post, share in on your timeline and comment “done”.

It seems the admins behind this like-farming page are clearly behind the times. At the time of writing, all their posts are quoting 2016, instead of the current year 2017.
It’s a typical like-farming scam, where the spammers are attempting to lure people into following their Facebook page using deception, i.e. a fake competition.

There are no prizes on offer here. Those who follow the page will be subjected to more spam, and risk being exposed to links that can lead to any number of more serious online scams. This is just an attempt to accumulate as many follower as possible, and despite the lack of originality of the scam, tens of thousands of users are sharing their posts.
So once again we remind our readers never to interact with spammy Facebook pages that post constant streams of “share this post and win this prize” type posts that we so often encounter on the social networking website. If you do, you are asking for trouble. Not only that, but by sharing these posts, you are exposing your Facebook friends to the same type of scam as well.
