Fake trailer spreads for Netflix Addams Family Series

A trailer circulating on social media appears to show an upcoming release from on-demand service Netflix titled The Addams Family Series, based on the classic sixties TV series.

The 50 second video shows various clips from the apparent reboot of the TV series featuring a variety of characters comprising the oddball family, accompanied by the popular and iconic Addams Family theme tune.

However the trailer is fake and doesn’t depict a real upcoming TV series. As many eagle-eyed viewers pointed out, the video – which was posted by popular Facebook Page Netflix Geeks and has since been viewed over 10 million times – combines various scenes from the 1991 Addams Family movie along with clips from an assortment of other horror and action pictures including Penny Dreadful, Sucker Punch and The Blackcoat’s Daughter.

These clips have been mixed into a video to provide the illusion of a new trailer for an Addams Family reboot, and have been spreading since April 2017. However to date no such TV series has been announced.
