Fake tweet claims Trump blocked Jennie Willoughby on Twitter

A fake Twitter account has resulted in a viral rumour that President Donald Trump had blocked Jennie Willoughby – the woman who accused ex-Whitehouse Staff Secretary Rob Porter of domestic abuse – on Twitter.

A fake Twitter account purporting to be Jennie Willoughby posted a screenshot of what appears to show Donald Trump having blocked her. The tweet soon went viral across Twitter and was even re-tweeted by several journalists.

After defending someone accused of domestic abuse, the President blocks me on Twitter for condemning his statements in my previous tweet.
Is he really our president?

Jennie Willoughby was the wife of Whitehouse staffer Rob Porter who had accused Porter of abuse during their marriage. Porter resigned his position as White House Staff Secretary after domestic abuse allegations from both of his former wives came to public attention last week.

After the tweet from “Willoughby” claiming Trump had blocked her on Twitter went viral, many had to quickly backtrack and apologise after it came to light the account was fake. The Twitter account that had posted the fake tweet – jWiIIoughby (note the Ls are actually capital i’s) – was different to Willoughby’s genuine Twitter account myorgasticfutur.

After an appeal by the genuine Willoughby, the fake account was soons suspended by Twitter and can no longer be viewed.
