Image claims to show Red Cross meal served to Hurricane Harvey survivors

A photo spreading online claims to show a meagre portion of food supplied by The Red Cross to Hurricane Harvey victims along with the claim that The Red Cross charges the government $8 for the portion.

The image can be seen below.

Despite the claims, this doesn’t show a meal provided to those displaced by Hurricane Harvey, nor does it show a meal provided by The Red Cross. This image was taken back in 2014 during a controversy involving school meals in Oklahoma.

As such, we don’t recommend circulating this image under the context of being related to Hurricane Harvey or The Red Cross.
