Keyword Search
The Keyword Search feature is designed to search keywords of a particular hoax or scam. The search feature searches the ‘Keywords’ and ‘Other Keywords’ fields on any entries on our database, but not the full text of an entry.
This means for it to work best, select only a few keywords specific to your desired result. One, two or three keywords work best with four being an ideal limit.
Additionally the default search value for searching is “Any Keywords” meaning the results displayed will have returned at least one of the keywords you entered, or a keyword you entered was found within a longer word.
Selecting “All Keywords” means that results will only be displayed if the contain all the keywords you entered.
This means that, for example, entering in a long winded message and selecting “Any Keywords” will usually result in many matches since many matches will contain at least one of the words you entered, and the list is not prioritised in that the more keywords found the higher in the list a match will be. Entering in a long winded message and selecting “All Keywords” will likely find no results since it is unlikely any article will match all of the keywords entered.
You can enter URL addresses but always omit the WWW. As we do not use this when entering a URL into our database.
