Online Forex Scams
Forex (Foreign Exchange Market, or FX) scams are becoming increasingly popular on the Internet with more and more websites appearing purporting to allow people who sign up to their site to make large returns on an investment quickly.
The two main methods the websites employ is to either take an investment from the victim directly with the assertion that the website will enter that investment into the foreign exchange market, or the website will purport to sell vital or secret information to the victim regarding certain techniques that will essentially guarantee the victim a high return on the price of the information.
With the first method, the victim pays the website an investment. However, many con artists will simply steal this money and the victim will not see any return. Often, these websites will put the money of the exchange market, all of it all part of it, but the victim will very rarely see any profits. Despite what the websites imply, there is no guaranteed success on the foreign exchange market, and even experienced traders could not guarantee such large turnarounds on profits, let alone these website operators. Also take into consideration what motivation these websites promising riches must have. If the owners of the website really did find a way to create certain riches, why would they share it with other people? The effortlessness of setting up a website without being traced means scammer can set the sites up in minutes, and there are no limits to what lies they can tell. Would you give away thousands of dollars to a guy in the street if he tells you he can make you a fortune of the foreign exchange market? Probably not. But that is exactly what you will be doing if you give your money to one of these websites. If you are still in doubt, check the WHOIS information on the site.
The second method where the scammers purport to sell you secret techniques for getting rich with Forex and this is an obvious scam for some very simple reasons. The Forex, like any trading market, is full of experienced traders who do it fulltime and know exactly what they are doing. The assertion that there are secret techniques that none of these traders knows and that they will make a part time or amateur trader rich is simply ridiculous. The Forex is what is known as zero sum which means that profits and losses between all participants are equal, meaning for someone to do well, someone has to equally badly. There are no secret techniques that will allow amateurs to perform better than fulltime experienced traders, and even if there was, the zero sum nature of the market means it cannot work for everyone, despite what these websites state.
The overwhelming advice when it comes to Forex websites that claim to make you profits is to stay well clear from them. Leave the Forex to the professionals who deal with it everyday. People who are not familiar with the Forex are at an extreme disadvantage to those who are, meaning that despite what certain websites claim, it is extremely hard and rare for people just learning to make any sort of profit.
