Did RuPaul accuse Trump of inappropriate touching in the 1990s? Fake News

Links are spreading online leading to an article that claims American TV personality RuPaul has accused President Donald Trump of inappropriate touching during the 1990s after mistaking him for a woman.

According to the article, RuPaul – who is famous for dressing like a woman – made the accusations during an interview with Hollywood Inquirer. However the links are leading to an article on WorldNewsDailyReport.com. That article reads in part –

The famous drag queen, actor and recording artist Rupaul, claims that Donald Trump grabbed his ass and genitals during a party in 1995.
In an exclusive interview with the Hollywood Inquirer, Rupaul said that Mr Trump “made a move” on him during an event celebrating the release of the movie To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.
The artist was wearing his full drag queen apparel at the time, and he says Trump clearly mistook him for a real woman.

Despite the claims in the article, RaPaul made no such accusations. The entire article is fictional, and comes from a popular fake news website – WorldNewsDailyReport.com (WNDR.) That site is notorious for publishing a continuous string of fake articles, which is the websites primary business model.

The fake story was actually originally published by WNDR back in 2016, though occasionally makes a resurgence, most notably towards the end of 2017.

World News Daily Report has a disclaimer on their website that reads in part –

WNDR assumes however all responsibility for the satirical nature of its articles and for the fictional nature of their content. All characters appearing in the articles in this website – even those based on real people – are entirely fictional and any resemblance between them and any persons, living, dead, or undead is purely a miracle.

As such, the story shouldn’t be taken seriously and we don’t recommend circulating.
