Tom Hanks or Bill Murray. No, really, it’s Bill Murray.

A photo is spreading across the Internet that appears to show either actors Tom Hanks or Bill Murray mimicking a crying toddler, with commentators convinced it is one or the other.

Take a look at the photo below.

Upon first glance, it may appear that Tom Hanks is the winner. Look at the forehead creases – the nose, the ear! They seem to match Hanks perfectly.

But if Hanks was your choice, then you’d be wrong. In what is being dubbed the biggest Internet ‘optical illusion’ since the infamous dress (it’s really not, though), the photo you’re looking at actually depicts Bill Murray. And we have proof.

The photo was uploaded to social media back in 2013, and immediately caused confusion. It was actually originally taken in 2012, at St. Andrews during the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Despite the photo appearing just like Tom Hanks, here is proof that it was indeed Bill Murray, from this selection of other photos taken from the same event showing him in the same attire. Tom Hanks was not at the event.

So now we all know – when Bill Murray mimics crying children, he’s a dead ringer for Tom Hanks.
