This latest incarnation of the popular Olympic torch virus hoax is as equally false as its much older variations. In reality, virus hoaxes using essentially the same script have been circulating for many, many years, even before Facebook was born, and this is just another adaptation of a much older virus hoax template designed at panicking Facebook users into spreading an utterly useless message.
Whilst it is true that users should exercise caution when downloading attachments to emails they receive, there is no such threat like the one described above and the consequences of installing malicious attachments described in the message above is just far-fetched nonsense.
You can read more about the Olympic Torch virus hoax warning here to see some of the obvious similarities with that warning and this one, or even take a look at some more recent variations, such as the Gordon Brown is smiling variant which again uses a near identical script to fool users.
