The creepiest app on Facebook (that’s actually completely legit)

Back in 2011 we covered a new Facebook app, called TakeThisLollipop, that was becoming pretty popular at the time.

We’re sure many of our readers are already familiar with it, dubbed the creepiest app on Facebook.

Well it’s still alive and kicking, and we thought it was time for a quick revisit to see if we’ve learnt any lessons about the issues the app was trying to address.

Despite being the creepiest app on Facebook, it’s actually perfectly safe, and one we provide a link to at the end of the article. In fact if you haven’t already, we recommend trying it out, and we’ll tell you for why.

Creepy as it is, the app attempts to address some pretty important aspects about your Facebook privacy. You see, it can be difficult to imagine what would happen if, for example, some crazed stalker manages to access your Facebook account and the information you store on it.

But of course this is exactly what could happen if you’re a little too cavalier with your Facebook security settings. And whilst it can be difficult to imagine that possibility, this Facebook app demonstrates – vividly – what could happen if someone manages to access your account, albeit in quite a dramatized fashion.

We won’t give too much away, because we wouldn’t want to spoil your fun.

Visit this website – takethislollipop.com – and follow the instructions. Yes, you do have to install a Facebook app for it to work. We don’t recommend installing untrusted Facebook apps, but we can assure our readers that this app is perfectly safe, and you can uninstall it after your experience if you don’t want it on your account.

With just as many Facebook accounts getting compromised and users falling for Facebook scams as there were 4 years back, it seems many of us out there are still taking too many risks when it comes to our online security. Hopefully this great app will continue to help demonstrate the potential consequences of taking our online security for granted.

Remember, keep your Facebook account locked down and follow our instructions on how to do that here.
