Beware fake DX “track your delivery” text message scams
Scammers are sending text messages claiming to from delivery company DX telling the recipient they can track a delivery’s progress by clicking a link.

Your order will be delivered by DX today between 11.26 and 14.26. Track progress: LINK REMOVED
This is the latest ruse by scammers attempting to trick potential victims into clicking links that lead to either malware or phishing websites. Similar scam campaigns have previously targeted the DHL, Royal Mail and Hermes brands.
Scammers have frequently been posing at well-known delivery and courier companies since this has proven to be a successful social engineering trick. Recipients of such text messages are likely to click on links, regardless of whether they may be expecting a delivery.
In many cases these scam text messages have been known to direct recipients to websites that attempt to install malware disguised as tracking apps onto a user’s phone. More information here.

In other cases these links direct users to phishing websites that appear to look like the belong to the official DX website but are actually operated by crooks and will steal any information entered into them.
To avoid these scams, always avoid clicking on links or downloading files from unexpected emails or text messages. The majority of courier companies, if you do miss a delivery, will leave a “missed delivery” note at the premises.
You can contact the courier service using the contact information on their official website to speak to them to see if the missed delivery note is genuine and to reschedule a delivery if necessary.
