Did Biden mistake Tampa, Florida with Minnesota? Fact Check

A video appears to show Joe Biden thinking he was in Minnesota when he was really in Tampa, Florida.

FALSE

In the circulating video, Biden is seen saying “Hello Minnesota” while appearing before a large sign saying “Tampa, Florida”.

A screenshot from the video shows two references to Florida.

However the video is manipulated since two signs in the video had been altered to read Florida. Biden was indeed in Minnesota, as such there was no gaffe. The original video without the digital manipulation is below.

You can see through the above video that both the sign in the background and the smaller sign on the podium stand had been manipulated to contain references to Florida.

Despite being fake, the manipulated video with the Tampa Florida sign has accumulated many millions of views, thanks largely to being shared by former Trump campaign staff as well as actor James Woods, an ardent Trump supporter who frequently shares unverified and false content through his Twitter account.
