Does Kansas sign welcome 25 million visitors anally? Fact Check

According to an image online, Kansas City welcomes 25 million visitors anally. But is the image – which appears to show a tourism advertisement with an unfortunate spelling – a real photo?

The image was uploaded to Twitter during May 2018 by a popular Twitter parody account named You Had One Job and immediatnely garnered plenty of retweets before making its way onto Facebook.

However, the image had been digitally altered. Visit KC, the tourism board for Kansas, confirmed the image was fake, and we managed to track down the original to double confirm, as you can see below.

A prankster appears to have digitally altered the image. It’s not real.

Remember, with the advent of software such as Photoshop, fake images have surged in popularity. Meaning that seeing shouldn’t always mean believing. Especially on the Internet.
