Here’s a list of things you didn’t win in 2018 by liking a post on Facebook

Despite being around for countless years now, fake Facebook giveaways and competitions still remained one of the most prolific types of scam in 2018.

Those scams that claim you can stand a chance of winning money or high value prizes if you share a Facebook post and like a Facebook page.

As we head towards the end of 2018, we take a look at all the things that Facebook scammers claimed you could win – providing you shared their Facebook post and liked their page – of course!

Of course this isn’t a full list (we don’t have that sort of time!) but these were all very popular this year.

Celebrity giveaways? 2018 saw a rise in fake competitions purportedly from celebs giving away prizes…

Dwayne Johnson wasn’t giving away free money or cars.
Vin Diesel wasn’t either.
Nor was Tyler Perry.
Oprah Winfrey? Nope.
And neither was Ellen DeGeneres

Fake cruises still played a large part. No, you couldn’t win

A free P&O Cruise
A Carnival Cruise
A Royal Caribbean Cruise
A Disney Cruise for 4
A “family Disney” Cruise

Naturally there were tons of scams peddling holidays and free flights.

You weren’t going to Disney World USA for sharing a post.
Or Disney Land for that matter.
Nor were you going to the Maldives
Nor Bora Bora
Nor Center Parcs in Longleat
Nor Center Parcs UK
The same with a “Butlins Holiday for 4”
And the same with a “Disney World Holiday”
You won’t win a free trip to the Australian Gold Coast
Or Legoland
Or Hawaii
Free plane tickets with South West Airlines? Not a chance
Nor EasyJet
Nor British Airways
Nor Qantas

Motorhomes, RVs and cars were still prevalent this year…

You couldn’t win free Mini Homes
Or a Luxury RV
Or a Platinum RQ
An Aston Martin DB11? C’mon!
Mercedes Benz
Audi R8
“Camper Car”

Gadgets and gifts also featured heavily, including the…

iPhone X
iPhone X PLUS
You also couldn’t win
A flatscreen LG TV
A box full of MAC Cosmetics

Companies not celebrating their anniversaries and giving away free stuff include –

Pizza Hut
Cadbury’s
Kroger
Lidl
Morrissons
Kohls
ASDA
Aldi
JB Hi-Fi

As always, remember this is just a small list, and the number of fake prizes on offer with these scammy posts is countless! Remember, you’re not going to win high value prizes just for liking a Facebook post and following a page. Legitimate competitions are posted by legitimate Facebook pages, and none of the above were!
