Is Andy Bryon Planning to Sue Coldplay? Fact Check
Rumours are circulating the Internet that former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron is planning on suing band Coldplay after he was caught allegedly having an affair with an employee on the band’s “kisscam”.
The pair, who were in a seemingly intimate embrace at the time, abruptly ducked for cover after seeing themselves on the big screen, prompting Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to jokingly suggest the pair may have been having an affair. The incident has gone viral across social media sparking many memes along the way.
Since then, popular social media accounts have been posting the “news” that Byron is preparing legal documents in order to sue the band.

Astronomer CEO Andy Byron is preparing documents to sue Coldplay according to Yahoo News
Despite the claims, there is no evidence to believe Byron really is on the verge of suing Coldplay, and this appears to be an apparent case of cyber Chinese whispers likely started by a slew of articles pondering the likelihood of success should Byron decide to start legal proceedings against the British band (articles that incidentally all concluded that any legal proceedings would have a nigh impossible chance of prevailing). Such articles did not state that Byron was actually planning on such action.
Many of those articles were aggregated by Yahoo News, likely leading to the claim in the social media post attributing the news to the outlet.
Whether those articles contemplating the subject of potential lawsuits were doing so in response other social media rumours or simply because those media websites calculated such articles would likely accumulate a sufficiently high number of clicks and views is anyone’s guess.
Consequently, it’s difficult to ascertain exactly how this particular rumour began, but lacking any evidence and that such a legal claim has been dismissed as frivolous by legal experts, we determine it to be false.
