Is Breaking Bad season 6 shooting in December 2015?
A rumour that popular TV series Breaking Bad is to return for a sixth season with shooting to begin in December 2015 is spreading online, with the additional claim that the show’s main protagonist Walter White had not died.
The rumour certainly has got Breaking Bad fans excited, but with that excitement will soon come disappointment with the subsequent news that the rumour is actually not true at all.
It’s the work of a network of spoof news websites that have been fooling plenty of people recently. And it is not the first time this Breaking Bad season 6 rumour has gone viral on the Internet either – in fact an identical version (and we mean identical) rumour went viral in July 2015 and it was the same network of spoof websites responsible. In the earlier version of the rumour, season 6 was supposed to begin shooting in August 2015. The later version of the rumour changed that date to December 2015, yet the rest of the “news article” remained the same.

NBC.com.co (nothing to do with NBC News) and NewsExaminer.net – both run by the same person, Paul Horner – are the sites that have been publishing the fake news and giving false hope to Breaking Bad fans everywhere.
Recently these sites have been responsible for a slew of other rumours including the claim that Yelp are suing the creators of South Park as well as the claim that The Big Lebowski 2 has been confirmed for 2016. Neither of those stories were real either!
So will there be a Breaking Bad season 6? Sadly, it doesn’t look likely. The people behind the TV hit has confirmed that no subsequent season is likely, which means Walt – who apparently died at the end of season 5 – will not be returning to those TV screens. Well, not for a new season anyway.
Be careful what you believe online. Even if you want to believe the news, it doesn’t mean you should! Always double check those sources and make sure the website you’re reading isn’t one of a large number of spoof websites out there.
