Is there a product called Monster Energy Ham? Fact Check

An image appears to show Monster Energy ham, which the packaging describes as “caffeinated sandwich meat”.

FALSE

The image has been spreading on social media attached to a number of captions, frequently captions mocking “white culture”. See a copy of the image below.

However the image isn’t genuine. A quick search of the Monster Energy website reveals that there are no energy drinks related to ham, and an Internet search fails to provide any results related to such a product. In fact any online searches invariably turn up this very same image.

A closer look at the image reveals that it is watermarked with the words “adam the creator“. A social media search of that name reveals the Twitter account of a digital artist named Adam Padilla who frequently posts digitally altered photos, many of which are other fake adverts. A search of that profile reveals that Adam the Creator posted this image in October 2018, which appears to be the first instance of the image appearing online.

As such, the image is simply a digital creation designed as a prank. It isn’t a real product. Based on the nutritional and packaging information, we suspect the original product may have been Oscar Mayer uncured ham before the digital trickery took place!

Either way, the Monster Ham product isn’t real!
