Joe Montana Celebrity Death Hoax

Joe Montana is the latest celebrity to have the Internet prematurely announce his untimely passing.

Rumours began to circulate last week claiming that the ex-professional footballer was killed in a car crash. Such rumours linked to a website reporting the incident.

But yet again this is just another hoax report from an online website called fakeawish.com that allows users to generate their own fake news stories simply by entering the name of the desired celebrity.

In the past the website has also started death hoax rumours about Jeff Goldblum, Jackie Chan, Eddie Murphy and Keanu Reeves.

The hoax news reports are stored on a domain called mediafetcher, so you know that any reports on this domain are fake. And if you hear the Chinese whispers on social media about the death of a celebrity then check reliable news media first before passing it on to your friends.

And no, Joe Montana is not dead.
