Watch out for “online job” websites like DutySet.com

Readers should be careful when interacting with websites that claim to provide an “online job” that can pay users large amounts of money by posting links across the Internet, sites like DutySet.com, for example.

DutySet.com is one of many near-identical websites that are claiming those who register can make $3,500 monthly just by posting their own uniquely generated link on chatrooms, social media sites and blogs.

These sites are scams designed to harvest your name and personal information so you can be targeted for further work-from-home scams, and can also be used to steal your PayPal information as well.

The site claims to pay out $10 for every person who clicks your link when you spam it across the Internet. On the site that FAQ claims –

This can’t be real. Are you giving free money?
No, we are not giving away free money. We are paying you in order to generate traffic to our advertiser’s websites. We will get paid from our advertisers for the traffic we bring to them and paid commission to you people.

However this makes no sense since there are no “advertiser websites.” The only site or adverts we encountered belonged to DutySet.com and there was only 1 task available – spamming a link.

The problem with spamming links across the Internet is that it just doesn’t work. Most get removed, and even the ones that remain are unlikely to get clicked on. Even if users do surpass the required amount of clicks to get paid, there will be no payment.

The people who operate DutySet.com also simultaneously operated a number of identical websites with the same claims, website design and wording. However all of these are scams and the scammers are continually registered new domains and dropping existing ones to continue the scam.

If you are looking for websites that can pay you to complete certain tasks then there are plenty of great, legitimate websites, but don’t expect payouts of thousands of dollars each month since these opportunities do not exist. One of the leading websites is Swagbucks that lets you earn digital money for online tasks that can be redeemed for gift vouchers for sites like Amazon and iTunes (or PayPal cash.)
